now here's a somewhat disturbing site..
http://exberklander.blogspot.com
I'm not sure if I agree with all the statements there - I've only had time to skim through it at best...but it's uncanny how so much of it fits with my own perceptions of BBC. Definitely worth a more detailed pass asap. It's certainly a biased perspective though, I'd love to actually hear what a staff member's response to that page would be.

spring!

it's been getting warmer! w00t !
die winter die die die die die.........!!

of course with spring comes all the budding couples
it's ridiculously cute to see all your friends start to make pairs. I guess it's true that many people meet their significant other in college
on another note, I may end up with a roommate for the next two years. very exciting and very cool. Just waiting for him to confirm on me now...which is surprising because he proposed it =.="

where is your faith?

For the past month I've been pretty much extremely discouraged, verging on depression, because of all the failures that happened recently. I woke up everyday wanting to just stay in bed...mulling over all those failures, and then comparing myself to other people that I know who are excellent at all those things I suck at.

BUT..the past few days have just filled me with so much hope. The sermon at TCC was really good - the pastor talked about Cain and Abel. Cain was living up to his name which means "success", and found identity in that. On the other hand, Abel's name was like nothing, but he found his identity in God. So when Abel's offering was favoured over Cain's..Cain got upset because that destroyed his identity. I feel that I can really relate to Cain in that respect..each failure that hit me really got to me - because my identity isn't in God. In fact, I have no idea what my identity is. But realizing this problem is a start for me :)

Rehearsal today was awesome as well...it was good to listen to Voice of Truth again. I'm all charged for the week now :D Even if I have to stay up all night to finish my paper. But anyway, God is good...really do hope that He does have *some* plan for me :P Faith is such a hard thing.

Life by the Spirit
16So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. 17For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.

19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
